The concept of "en primeur" for Bordeaux wines dates back to the 18th century when merchants would purchase wines while still in barrels, before bottling. This allows consumers to secure wines at a favorable price, before they are even bottled.
Traditionally, buying en primeur provides access to highly sought-after vintages and allows enthusiasts to invest in future releases. With InterCellar, a pioneering company in wine trading, the world of en primeur takes a digital leap forward. For the first time, enthusiasts can exchange or resell en primeur wines through NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), revolutionizing the way fine wines are traded and enjoyed.

Storage fees are free for all items until December 31, 2024. Thereafter, storage charges will be €1.2 per month per deliverable item (regardless of packing). "En primeur" items are not considered deliverable and storage charges are only applied to them from the "deliverability date".
For primeur wines from the 2023 vintage, for example, they will be physically available in 2026. No storage charges will be applied before this date.

a. The user benefits from a free storage period of 6 months from the date of mint. After this period, on InterCellar, the user will have to pay storage fees at the rate of 0.2€ / bottle / month and in accordance with InterCellar’s general terms and conditions of use.

In accordance with the terms and conditions set forth, please be advised that any breach related to the transfer of the Non-Fungible Token (NFT) and/or the payment of future storage fees may, subject to certain conditions, result in the forfeiture of the right to redeem the physical bottle, as well as the loss of ownership rights over the said NFT.

The user will have a period of 3 months from the minting date to transfer their NFT to InterCellar. Subsequent to this initial period, an additional one-month grace period will be provided. During this grace period, the user will be notified with a final warning to transfer their NFT. Following this notification, the user shall have an additional two-week period to transfer the Non-Fungible Token (NFT) to InterCellar using the designated form. If the user fails to transfer their NFT within this extended timeframe, they will forfeit ownership of the NFT along with any associated benefits, resulting in the NFT being automatically transferred to InterCellar’s main wallet. For the transfer, the user must connect to InterCellar via a compatible wallet (Metamask, RainBow, CoinBase Wallet, WalletConnect). Once transferred, the NFT will be visible in the “My Cellar” section (button at the top left of the site).

On InterCellar, users can decide to claim their bottle (redeem) in order to have the physical bottle linked to their NFT delivered to them. They will have to fill in a delivery form and pay the shipping costs depending on the destination country (more than 40 countries delivered).
