Acquired by the Cathiard family in 1990, the château underwent a renaissance under their leadership. Nestled in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, this vineyard distinguishes itself with its gravel terroir, imparting wines with remarkable complexity and depth. The property was officially classified as a grand cru of Graves in 1953. The vineyard spans 78 hectares in one continuous plot, with 11 hectares dedicated to white wine production, and is characterized by its Günzian gravel soil, which imparts astonishing and distinctive characteristics to the wines. The château offers its grand cru in red and white, as well as its two second wines, Les Hauts de Smith and Le Petit Haut Lafitte. Noted with a perfect score of 100 by Vert de Vin, XL Vins, and Jeb Dunnuck, Château Smith Haut Lafitte represents excellence with meticulously crafted and balanced wines. The château is certified organic and places particular emphasis on its environmental stewardship through its Bio-Precision philosophy.
